April is Autism Awareness Month. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurological disorder that effects either speaking, comprehending, some movement, and it even be all of the above in one. One in every 68 children have Autism. However, though they have Autism, they are truly amazing. They are genius's in their own trade, doing things that average people would never be able to do. Since its Autism Spectrum Disorder, Autism is labeled on different levels from high functioning to low functioning. People you know closely might have Autism and you didn't even know it. A lot of people view Autism as a retardation and a handicap, people with autism should be viewed as the true heroes. These men and women have to deal with obstacles every day and they do it with grace. Many children are bullied because they have autism, just because a certain noise bothers them or even because they don't speak or look someone in the eye. This could be stopped, with more awareness of Autism. April 2nd, this Thursday, is Autism Awareness Day. Wear the color royal blue to support these fellow heroes. And for dA; do a picture involving royal blue, or puzzle pieces, because that is the official sign and color for Autism. Do your part, everyone is a part of this puzzle.

I know, I know, it's already July, and although I agree with 744theCoolCat (because Autism Speaks really is one of the worst pages about Autism and there are lots of better ones) I think this is a wonderful journal entry. c: I have Asperger's and I used to be bullied for a couple of years until I went to another school... but I don't think at all that I am retarded or just that different from the other people. Yes, I do have my 'typical autistic' flaws people slowly begin to notice when they know me longer, but don't we all have flaws here and there? :P Every person is unique, autistic or not ^_^
